Hey guys, so I am self-studying AP environmental science, and from what I here, the best books are the Princeton Review, the Smartypant’s Guide, and the Crash Course book. I am planning on purchasing the Princeton Review book, but I was wondering whether I should get the Smartypant’s Guide or the Crash Course book since it seems buying both is not necessary.
If you think buying both is necessary, I would recommend buying both. I am also currently self-studying AP Environmental Science here, and I am using Princeton Review’s 2017 Edition and REA’s Crash Course. I think Crash Course’s book is very good when you first need to learn the material, and Princeton Review is great for practicing for the exams as there are two comprehensive AP exams in the book. I am sorry I can not tell you much about Smarty Pants since I do not own it. However, in my personal opinion, I think two prep books is the best amount to have because I find it personally more effective to read one book thoroughly and memorize the book while with the other book, I can also read for clarification. Then, after finishing the two prep books, I would get a third. However, I think this choice is up to the studier as everyone studies differently.
Have a good day and happy holidays!
