I've read a lot of reviews for APES prep books, but I can't really decide which one to buy. CCers seem to like Smartypants, but the buyers from reviews on Amazon hate it. And the reviews for PR seem pretty different too.

So which one would you guys suggest? Princeton Review, Barron's, Smartypants, or 5 Steps to a 5?

Also, which prep book do you guys suggest for AP Biology? Cliffsnotes or Barron’s?

I’m not sure about AP Bio, but I self-studied with both PR and REA’s Are You Serious About Getting A Five? Overall, I thought PR was awesome in that it was very readable and had chapter mini-quizzes. REA had much more information, but read like a textbook. PR’s practice exams, however, were easier than the actual AP exam while REA’s seemed a little harder as well as formated different. Overall, I’d read at least two different Prep Books a few times just to make sure that you have all of the information memorized. APES wasn’t hard, but it is always better to be over prepared than under.

^
TPR is good, but REA’s Are You Serious About Getting Five? I thought thaty REA’s AP Science contains even less information than TPR, but majority are the practice tests. Is REA that good?

Ok cool. I already got PR so I’ll just stick with that. And since I’m currently taking APES in school, I think PR should be enough for me.

So any prep book suggestions for AP Bio?

REA’s Crash course helped me brush up on topics the month before AP BIO also 5 steps to a 5 works really well for Bio. As for Enviro I just purchased the Kaplan study book.
