How hard is the test to self-study for and how much time should I plan to devote? Is the Barron's book good or should I use another prep. book?

Thanks.

Ap enviro sci is easssssyyyyyy

i took it as a sophomore, dropped the class at semester.. it was a bad class... but i had AP bio the same year... that probably helped. the test i thought was super easy considering i didnt study at all. if u already took bio/ taking it now then u should be fine

I can recommend Awesome Guide for env. sci. I don't know anyone who used Barron's, but it had pretty mediocre reviews on Amazon (and I usually like Barrons)

I think the Barron's book is the only brand name prep book targeted directly for AP ...?

I haven't taken the exam yet, but I bought the book for the AP this year and I find it to be the same quality as all the other Barron's books - although the chapters are a little ... all over the place? There is a "Cause and Effect" chapter with issues that definitely could have been placed among other chapters. Otherwise, the information and prep seems fairly good. I don't regret buying it.

According to reviews I've read, the Barron's book was horrible (way too much info). I bought it anyways but only used it for the practice tests. They didn't reflect the real thing at all, imo. I think I was on track for a 1 or 2 according to them, but I ended up getting a 3. (My course ended in December and I hadn't reviewed the math formulas used on the test.) :-/

Everyone on here seems to think that it's the easiest AP to study for, but off-forum, it's pretty unanimous that APES is a lot harder than it would seem.

my son used Awesome Guides, nothing else (no course, no text), and made a 5.
