AP Environmental Science SELF STUDY- HELP!!

Hey all I'm tryin to self-study my way through Environ Science with the Awesome Guides workbork and study guide thing. Is this all I need? I know Barron's makes a book...should I get this too? Also, does anyone who's done this before know of any good textbooks? Also- is this course usually a semester or a full year when its offered at your high schools?? Thanks!

P.S. Does anyone else who has used the Awesome Guides book noticed a TON of grammar errors and stuff in the vocabulary review section? I'm trying to make flashcards and its like it was never even edited!

Awesome Guides is desparately in need of a good proof-reader. But all the info is there. My son used it to self study successfully. He also had one of the standard textbooks, but never looked at it other than occasionally checking for something in the glossary. I haven't heard great things about the Barron's book, but I'm generally in favor of having a couple of review books for self-study.
