I'm deciding to self study Human Geography and Environmental Science. I already found a good thread that helped me choose a book for Human Geo (Barrons), but I didn't find one for Env. Science.

The consolidated sticky thread said get Smartypants, but on Amazon.com, it received horrible reviews, so I'm not too keen on buying that.

Does anyone know which review book is good for Env. Science? Barrons or PR? Kaplan? Can anyone also offer personal experiences?

hey, i actually took both of those aps so i have firsthand experience,
but maybe i should hold out on the advice until i get my ap scores (as soon as the CB freaking gets the phone service running)
I can tell you one thing, though. the Barron's is not gonna work for HumanGeo. people recommend that just because it has been the ONLY HG review book for years. default, basically.

hey, so i got my ap scores today.
i got a 5 on both enviro and humgeo :)

so trust me, use the McGraw-Hill AP Achiever book for enviro.
i studied it for 2 weeks, never read the Miller text, had the crappiest teacher, and got a 5. you dont need barron's or anything else. i swear.

as for humgeo, same background...i basically studied on my own at the last minute. as in A WEEK because it was like one of my last priority APs..
the book you need is ETHEL WOOD's human geography book. you have to find it online, like amazon. it's really unknown like the mcgraw hill but it's like the secret to getting a 5. the ethel wood for hg is very very good but not as EXCELLENT as the enviro mghill. so if u MUST buy a second humgeo review book, i'd say kaplan. not barrons
