***AP Environmental Science Thread 2016-2017***

I’m hoping for a 4 at this point, going off of the 2016 FRQ and Barron’s practice 1. Good luck to everyone!

Good luck everyone! I’m hoping my furious review from Barron’s will pay off. Also, getting a 4 in Barron’s is good, right? Since their practice tests are harder than the real thing?

Yeah

Wow did anyone else think that test was easier than they thought? MC was not bad and FRQ was a joke. There was barely any math

Compared to previous years. Lol i really thought i was screwed for the math frq

It was a joke! I was expecting harder.

MC was kinda hard for me (but I guessed fairly well, so hopefully I did ok), and FRQ was definitely super easy. A lot of logical reasoning for me.

I don’t know about anyone else but I honestly felt good about the test it was way easier then I thought. Hopefully I at least got a 4.

How harsh do you think the curve will be this year? What do you all think the cut-offs will be for 4s and 5s?

Lots of people think it was easy. I personally thought the MC was a little tough (although not too bad) and the essays were relatively simple. Gonna guess the curve will be a little steep, so it may be more difficult to get a 4 or 5 this year

Will someone please explain to me two economic benefits to hydroelectric dams? (Part b of question 4, where you can’t use generation of electricity or control of downstream flooding, which was all that came to my mind)

@Falconsroach7
While I cannot remember both examples that I gave, I do know that I said something along the lines of producing less pollution which means less money spent to clean these pollutants

@Falconsroach7, I talked about increased recreation/tourism with the water “gathered together” (I don’t know how exactly to explain this), so people could kayak, boat, etc., leading to more revenue.

@Falconsroach7 I talked about creating jobs at the local area. I also mentioned how the dam created a manmade reservoir upstream, which could be used as a watersupply for the city or agricultural fields.

Found out this morning I scored a 5!

@trumpetmathgeek, same! So happy because I thought I bombed the MC.

What labs are done in APES?

@SuperGeo5999 – there is info on the College Board website:
