I just want to get an idea how hard is AP environmental and AP biology. Which is easier, better, usefull, less to memorize, etc? What do you learn in these classes?

AP Bio at my school is next to impossible. The highest anyone gets in there is a C. Their homework takes literally 12 hours.

On the other hand, APES is challenging, but not impossible (at my school at least). There are some incredibly boring parts (soil) but there are really interesting ones too (population). It’s a lot to learn, but it’s much more manageable than AP Bio. It took anywhere from 2-8 hours to do the homework depending on the assignment.

Honestly though, it depends on the school.

Oh. I did heard AP bio was a lot of writing and homework at my school as well.

A lot of AP Environmental is common sense – the material is easily memorized and thus is a popular option for self-study. AP Bio on the other hand is usually more difficult.

Yes, because it’s common sense how every energy source works. (you have to memorize all of the little parts and how they work)

AP Environmental Science is a joke whereas AP Biology is not.

I love how a class with up to 8 hours of homework a night is a joke on CC.

LOL. i find what you guys said kind of true. People do say that AP environmental is very easy and AP bio is serious work… i registered for AP environmental but i kind of changed my mind because i don’t think i’ll ever find that useful. I might want to switch it to AP bio but that’s going to be abit hardcore. I guess i’ll take the Bio onee if theres any more room.

I’m kind of jealous of the people who go to school where APES is an easy A and where bio isn’t unmanageable. I’d love to take bio, but I know I’d probably fail (some of the smartest kids I know struggled to keep a C).

Is it because AP bio is like pure memorization with many topics? I’m not always great with that.

I think it had to do with the teacher specifically. She also makes her Honors classes much harder than they need to be.

Why not try to self study?
