<p>Does anyone know whether the free response sections of AP exams are scanned onto anything for scoring or if the readers actually read your original response from your essay booklet? (i'm surprised i don't know this.)</p>
<p>I think they do actually read the original responses, unlike the SAT. The AP folks have until late June, almost 2 months to get all the grading done. The SATs have to get essays graded and scored in about 2 weeks.</p>
<p>i think nikeswoosh guy is right. i know someone who used to grade essays and he said that they read them right from the booklets. i think thats why you have to write in pen not pencil unlike the sats.</p>
