hey everyone! im an incoming sophomore and im taking ap calculus ab and ap european history this year, and i was wondering which brand of test prep book would be most useful for studying for the ap exams for these subjects (barron's, etc.). i know its really early but i think it would be useful during the course as well. thanks in advance!

bump…

Barrons for Calculus AB. It will over-prepare you, but you will develop a strong foundation in math (I am assuming you will take BC junior year, so this will help for that). If you complete the book, you can pretty much pencil in a 5.

I used PR for calc AB and BC and got a 5 easily. I didn’t really “review/study” from the book. I just mainly went through all the practice problems and the practice tests. I “reviewed” as I did the problems. Skip the FRQs in any review book and use the released past FRQs on the AP central site. Practice them, understand them…

As for AP euro…I really didn’t pay attention. Come exam week…boom, I was in trouble! So I picked up the Crash Course for AP Euro and it was surprisingly helpful. It helps you understand the big picture rather than going deep into the details. Got a 4 with some last minute studying. Definitely a helpful book, would have failed otherwise.

thanks puzzled123 and jdroidxw!
