I'm just wondering what course is easier/ more interesting. I'm going to be a junior next year and have the option to take one and I would like to hear your opinions, Thanks.

The majority of students who take AP World are sophomores and the majority who take AP Euro are seniors so the curve for AP World will be kinder for you if you are a year older than most of the other test-takers. AP World is very general as there is so much material to know and I found last year that even though I knew very little about specific events, with a general sense of the time periods and eras I was able to do very well. I received a 5 and was only in an AP class for the second semester. I was a sophomore.

I have only taken World History honors, so I cannot say much for AP World History. I assume you have already taken World History and the AP class obviously just goes more in depth.
I did take AP Euro and it was an eye opening experience for me to learn about European history. It’s only briefly touched in World History and in AP Euro, I learned about the culture, religion, and rulers of Europe. It is definitely a class where there is a lot of reading required and most classes started off with the bubonic plague that wiped most of the population. If your interested in Europe, take AP Euro. You learn about the different religions, catholicism, calvinism, lutherism, anabaptist. Leaders such as Louis XIV, Alex the Great, and Napoleon. America is briefly touched, but the entire course focuses on the development of the European countries. My class lacked a good teacher, but I read through most of the book until the 1970s and got a 4 on the exam. Not sure which one is easier, but I find Euro more interesting than my honors world history class. It just felt like we jumped around too much in world.

WE’ll thank you both for the feedback. My high school is oddd because it has 2 years of United States history and I will most likely be moving and can take either History or both if I really wanted to- it seems like I should take World next year and Euro as a senior. If anyone else has anything else to add please post. Thanks again.
