Alright so after reading some of the posts on this website I have noticed that you guys are saying that the thesis is one statement. Does this mean one sentence or can an entire paragraph be considered “the thesis.” This is how my teacher taught us to write a thesis. On the test, for each FRQ I would write two sentences in my intro generalizing what I was going to talk about. I would then add 1-2 more sentences in my intro and then write the body paragraphs. I’m just scared that the test readers won’t considered my 2-3 sentences as a thesis. Am I screwed?

The thesis is allowed to be multiple statements.

That is exactly how I write my theses. I think it’s a superior / easier method, because it allows it to be clearer and more encompassing. I imagine this is totally fine in the eyes of the AP graders.

Yeah, my whole introduction paragraph is my thesis. In my experience, trying to have one thesis statement usually ends up in a run-on, clumsy, or awkward (or any combination of those) sentence.
