Hey all I just wanted to know some opinions on AP Euro if you took it.. Did u enjoy it, was it difficult, how is it compared to AP world, etc.. I'm thinking of taking it next year so any help or info would be appreciated

I have not taken the class, however, I had several friends who took it at the same time I was taking AP World, and the classes seemed pretty comparable. I noticed that AP Euro seemed to focus a little less of historical thinking skills than AP World did, and there seemed to be quite a bit more memorizing involved.

I took AP Euro last year and found it to be a very manageable class, no harder than any other AP I have taken. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of history so I found the class to be a little dry at times (there was a lot of memorization of chronology and events, all of which were very similar). The best part of the class for me was learning about the quirks of all the leaders (trust me, there are plenty); although not important on the exam, interesting to me.

If you are going to take it, definitely buy the Crash Course European History book; it provides a really good foundation of information with easy to memorize chronology. All I did to study was skim over this book once the night before the exam and I got a 5. It’s not a bad class or a particularly hard exam.

I took it and enjoyed it a lot. I think on a 1-to-8 scale, I’d class it about a 4 in difficulty.

I haven’t taken the class either because it’s not offered at my school. I’m considering self-studying it though, but I don’t know if it may be too difficult. Plus I’m already taking AP World History this year.

I took it last year. The class was interesting, the people who took it were interesting, but the teacher was not. Bad teacher, so I found it difficult. Much of what was taught never showed up on the test. But I got a 5 on the AP, so I guess I learned so something! I’m taking APUSH this year, and find it 100 times easier than Euro. But overall I enjoyed the class.
