I took AP european history this year, earned an A in the Course but got a 3. SHould I re-take it next year. I plan on aplying to the top Ivies and really do need/want a five. So has anyone done this before? I still remember basic stuff, just not in depth. Can this be done if I relearn'reveiw during school breaks? My meory is very visual, does anyone suggest a good visual textbok?

No, you're good. APs don't play a major role in the admissions process...and retaking the test would be a major waste of cash. Concentrate on the rest of your admissions package and don't worry.

im in your position too... but i am not doing anything. the only reason i'd think you should retake is if you are going to major in history (especially if its euro hist)

Don't retake. It's $83 gone, and it'll be a whole mound of pressure when you're taking English, Calc, Physics/Bio/Chem, U.S. History, and what all else I'm assuming you are since you're headed for Ivies.

Ivies mostly don't take credit for APs anyway, unless you're a Chemistry major getting out of Freshman English.
