LOL; they’re not.
When do they release the scoring guides with the FRQ’s? Is that around the time scores come out in July?
The MC (40%) is worth a lot more than the DBQ (25%) though, so the version with the harder MC and easier DBQ will probably have a separate curve as well.
Also, that means the hard/easy vs easy/hard doesn’t balance out too well because Part I is worth 60% of the overall score and Part II is only worth 40% of the overall score… so it might actually be good if you got the easier MC/SAQ and harder DBQ/LEQ.
Also, sorry for the double post, but here’s College Board’s explanation for how they deal with varying difficulties across different versions of the exam: https://professionals.collegeboard.org/testing/ap/about/different
I think some of the people on this thread are over reacting… Judging from last year’s thread, almost all of you will end up with a 5 then I’ll be the outlier with a 2 :((
For me the MC was moderate, the SAQ were easy, but section 2 really kicked my butt. From what I’ve read, I got one of the different versions because mine wasn’t asking about a French or German ruler. The dbq cut into my LEQ time, so the LEQ wasn’t as good as it could’ve been even though it was really easy.
I also have a few questions. How are the exams curved and do you guys think the curve from APUSH last year would be close to the euro this year?
Thanks!
The APUSH curve should be an accurate predictor of your Euro score because in the past yearas, approximately the same percent of testers got 4/5’s for both tests. However you can never really be certain with CollegeBoard and the whole format change.
the LOVELY euro frqs have been posted : )

Did anyone else get a way different test than the one that they just posted? I think that most of the short answers were absurdly hard but the essay and dbq were fine.
Hey so after checking the questions that were posted i realized that i did not answer the last short answer question, i must have forgotten because it looks so foreign. I did VERY well on this exam and everything was a breeze, i was confident while taking the test and honestly believe i will get a 5, however i still missed a very important question (#4) but answered everything else. Will this seriously affect my chances or will i be fine? Thanks
You could’ve had the different version of the test, so there might’ve been different questions. If you’re lucky, the one you didn’t answer is the pilot question that won’t actually count.
Yeah I hope so, but all of the other questions offered are the exact same thats why i think i messed up
It’s fine, all the questions were the same for me except Short Answer #4. Mine was on something other than that (I dont want to say specifics) so that one might of been the field questions. Or its just a different version.
Hey just so everyone knows I read in one of the review books that one of the short answers doesnt count, so you should hope it was the 4th one…my 4th one made no sense so I am assuming its the test one that doesnt count.
thank god it was the 4th
I’m actually kinda of sad, the one we got was really easy.
idk for sure but I just think that it might be
I’m pretty sure I had the alternate version as all my questions were different from the one they posted. My DBQ was a lot harder, but my LEQ and short answers were pretty easy. So does anyone know how/if the college board accounts for difficulty?
yea same ^ I had the different one that was not posted and I think that they do separate curves depending on the results for each exam but do not know for sure
I had 3 out of the 4 SAQs given and both the DBQ and LEQ…I had no idea what to do with that DBQ though… It was HORRIBLE !!!
