I’m a high school freshman going to be a sophomore next year. Our school is scheduling for classes and I’m deciding if I should take Ap euro. This will be my first real history class because this year I’m taking geography and history of the world a very basic and easy class. Should I take AP Euro? Can I get an A? How hard is it? How many papers do you write? How much homework? Can you pass the exam? Thanks and please help.
This depends entirely on your school. None of us know. Talk with some former students of the class of the instructor.
But in general is it a lot of reading?
In our class we read a chapter(40 pg) a week.
My D had a lot of work to do in AP Euro, it was a junior class.
They started with AP World, the AP US history, then AP Euro
Thanks so much for the info. I think I’m going to push through and take the class. At my school ap human geography is a freshman class and as a sophomore there is no history you have to take and as a junior you take apush. Thank you. I’m gonna try hard and try to get an A in the class.
AP Euro has a lot of reading, but it is quite fun! It’s not that hard if you enjoy the topic.
There’s a big textbook and as a result, a lot of notes.
I’m a sophomore and is taking AP Euro this year. Honestly, the class isn’t that hard because my teacher knows how to prepare us for the AP test. Just know that this class involves A LOT of reading and notes. It’s not as bad as you think, and it also prepares you for APUSH (if you’re planning on taking that too).
Thanks for info I do plan to take APUSH my junior year. I hope do well in this class thanks again.
Like above remember the AP history classes in general should have tons of notes, reading- I’m in apwh rn as freshman, since it’s supposed to be the easiest one and we have about 3-4 chapters a week or 70-80 pages and you have to do notes on each one… well mostly its b/c im a slow writer… but gl.
I’m currently taking it and got an 88 last semester- there’s a lot of reading, notes and projects and since this is one of the first years of the new exam format, there aren’t a lot of resources. We get calendars and there’s around a OPQ every other week or so and a test every couple of cycles. Primary sources galore too. My teacher is pretty easy and accepts late work so it’s an easy A for many of us (plus the small class size doesn’t hurt) but ask people who are taking it this year at your school and talk to the teacher.
