My son submitted his ED application to Columbia last night. He realized this morning that he forgot to mention the AP U.S. History exam he took last May. He received a 5 on it.

If he just has the score sent to Columbia, will that information get into my son's Columbia application file without any further action by my son? Or does he have to send a separate letter to Columbia?

Thank you.

If he has the official score report, he should fax it to Columbia making sure his name (as on the application), high school and DOB are on it. Alternatively, he could send an email mentioning his score and asking that it be added to his file (which would not be official-official, but a good short term solution). Lastly, if his counselor has not submitted his/her part of the application, he or she could add that information on their portion (there is space asking for student scores).

For him to receive credit if he desires, he needs to submit the tests officially from the collegeboard to Columbia. Credit will be given only after he enrolls if admitted.
