My son is currently taking AP US History. The exam is coming up in May. A question for those who have taken an AP exam (this will be my son's first). Did you invest in any sort of practice book? I have the SAT subject test book; would this be helpful or should we purchase an AP practice book? Can the class grade be at all correlated to the AP score? I know all schools and courses are different, but I am looking for the experience of students at some of the better boarding schools.

Bump…any kids out there who’ve taken this test…

No offence but this question does NOT belong here…

Why not? I am asking for input from kids on their experience of AP exams at prep schools.

think the grade for the class and the grade on the AP are separate but usually the student’s grade in the class is like an indication of how well the student will do on the test.
that’s how it works at my prep day school but at NMH it could be different

I have taken AP Stat and AP Calc AB in the past and I find that the AP review books help as a supplement. I used Barrons for AP Stat. This year I’m taking AP Comp Sci A, AP Calc BC, AP Physics C: E&M and AP Physics C: Mechanics. I got Princeton Review for BC and Physics, and Barrons for AP Comp Sci. The Sat Subject test book is probably not going to be helpful to your son at all for AP exams. They are different. Try a princeton review or barrons book.
Typically the score are comparable but not all the time. They generally are a good indication but you won’t know until you take the exam. Also tell him to go on the College Board website. They probably have some sample DBQs and stuff like that.
Hope that helps.
