AP exam rankings(personal rankings)

After taking 14 exams, here is a list from hardest to easiest, any commentary is helpful.

Mind you I have not recieved grades for 8 of these yet.

AP English Language(not that this exam is really hard, its just really random and the curve is tough)

AP Art History(so many facts so little time, this exam is also very random. I probably also thought this was hard because I had a first year teacher who didnt cover 200 years.)

AP English Literature(another random test with strange poems that I cannot interpret worth a ****)

AP Biology(so much information to remember… the only reason this isnt higher on the list is because the curve is very nice)

AP Calculus AB(really easy if you keep up with the material over the year, hard to study for if you are cramming. The FR is predictable)

AP Environmental Science(not a hard AP at all if you took the class, but this self study actually requires a little work. Some of the multiple choice were very random but the FR can be incredibly easy).

AP European History(I did really well on this exam in terms of the grade I got on it, but the material was not extremely comfortable and i remember missing a lot of questions).

AP Macroeconomics(generally this is pretty easy, especially if you have time to study for it; however it takes a lot of economic logic to be able to get everything right, some of the interest rate mc questions are tricky.)

AP Microeconomics(the mc is usually ridiculously easy, the free response can be a little difficult. Overall not a tough exam if you can memorize well)

AP World History(the material may not all be common knowledge but the DBQ’s are incredibly short and you don’t need any outside information. In addition, the curve is always wonderful because inferior 10th graders take this exam and for some reason don’t perform as well, perhaps its lack of testing experience?)

AP Comparative Government(Some random questions, but at the point in which they ask you to name some reasons how Iran limits democracy, you know you have this test in the bag)

AP U.S History(Fairly easy. The DBQ gives many people fits but the simplicity of the multiple choice should be a relief to everyone. It all depends on which test you get, but a little review with the Amsco book and most people on here should easily get a 4/5.

AP US government and politics(this exam made me laugh it was so easy. I got a 4 on it before I even took the class and the practice test/released exam we took in class I missed 3 questions out of 60. Seriously folks anyone that understands anything about civics should be able to self study this and get a 4/5.

AP Human Geography(now we have all laughed at this exam on CC before, and it is a joke. Many colleges don’t accept it because of this reason. Ill give you a good example that backs up my assertion. I took this exam last year, studied in 2 days MAX, totally bombed one of the essays(as in misdefined the terms) and still got a 5. If I can do it, you sure as hell can get a 5 in the same way too. Again this exam faces similar problems that World History faces - many inexperienced freshman take this exam and they simply have not been accustomed to the routine of test taking…

Now I realize that these rankings may seem odd and totally subjective and that is because they are :). This is just how I personally felt about each one after the exam.

Now although I didnt take these exams I hear that AP Physics C and Foreign Language exams are the hardest and I think im in complete agreement. In addition ive also heard AP psychology is a joke AP and im also in agreement on that.

post your rankings!

I thought English language and composition had a nice-ish curve? Or at least essays were graded very gently.

on last years test only 24 % of test takers recieved a 4 or 5.

hmm... that's quite a few exams... my rankings are:

AP Spanish Language - quite difficult, teacher wasn't great, lots of vocab.. scraped by with a very low 5; horrible testing conditions

AP Environmental Science - yes, it is an easy AP but i was unprepared because teacher was horrible and i just didn't feel like studying for it.

AP Physics C Mechanics - we learned this at the beginning of the year so I was quite rusty by AP time

AP Physics C Electricity & Magnetism - not too bad, curves are quite generous

AP Chemistry - the ap exam this year was ridiculously easy, but i had a really good teacher

AP US History - lots of work throughout the year, but an easy 5

AP European History - same as US History, i thought it was easier though b/c my teacher was better

AP Calculus BC - minimal studying & hw, didn't do any calc for like a year and still managed a 5

AP Calculus AB - very easy, but then again, i am a math person.

yet to come next year, AP English Lit., AP US Gov., AP Biology, AP Statistics.

1-AP Physics C E&M- I actualy felt a piece of soul died with that test.
2-AP European History- It was much harder than I thought it would be, and my teacher told my class not to study anything after 1950 coz "it wont be featured on the test" I want to kill him.
3-AP Physics C Mechanics- It was a little challenging
4-AP US History- I just don't like memorizing
5-AP Spanish Language- That was so easy, maybe coz my dad's spanish- oh well. lol
6-AP Psychology- That was a BS test, and the MC was really easy.
7-AP Calculus BC- Math is my forte.

Will be taking AP English Lit, AP US/Comp Gov, AP Chemistry, AP Microecon, and AP Spanish Lit.

Hmm......
1. IB HL English----its just a hard class for me
2. AP European History and IB HL History---argh....so much to remember but i think i did well on both
3. AP Stats---had a stupid stupid teacher who didn't cover ANY of stats inference, we were missing 30% of the material
4. AP Chem---i'm a chem person so this wasn't bad
5. AP Calc BC----not bad....one tricky question on diff eq
6. AP Calc AB----not bad

lol

People say IB Math HL is actually harder than AP Calculus BC

AP French Language: I cried after this one. I choked on the speaking, I couldn't finish my essay, and I guessed on half the multiple choice. Hoping TO GOD that I got a 3.

APUSH: Not too bad...multiple choice was pretty easy, but the DBQ was a b*tch since the three teachers (2 regular and 1 AP) decided not to do the lecture that covered Republican Motherhood, but the FRQs were ok. Hoping to GOD that I got a 4 or 5.

Physics C: E&M. No comment.
Spanish Language (3). Bad teacher, sound echoed off walls...and I'm terrible at Spanish.
English Language. Basically a whole test full of BS.
US History (4). Not exceedingly difficult, but a lot of material.
Chemistry (5). Just a really average test for me. FR was harder than expected, but MC was pretty easy.
US Government/Politics. An absolute joke of a test. I thought I did well, and I didn't read half the material covered.
Macroeconomics. Also a joke. Know a couple graphs, there's your 4.
Calculus BC (5). Good teacher, aptitude with math.
