I recieved my AP score in the mail. I got a three on the exam which means that I am 'qualified'. I am applying to schools like Harvard, Brown, Yale, etc. and I know a three is not great enough for those schools. This is the only AP exam i took this year. I took other classes at a university so I did not need the AP credit. Should I submit the score? Or should I write on my application that I plan to take the exams at the end of my senior year along with the other AP exams I plan to take. I can offer an explanation where I say that I did not think I needed the credit so I did not pay to take the exams. The colleges will never know about the AP exam. Reporting the score is totally optional. I need help from experts/ college students who have witnessed similar situations. I know AP exams are not very important, but I need more perspectives on this issue. THANKS!

don’t submit it. you won’t get credit for it at those schools and it’s “good” but it really isn’t good enough. so just don’t report it.

but don’t lie about it either… it’s not that big of a deal.

Schools seem to be more interested in the fact that you took the class, not neccessarily your score. Don’t report the score.

Colleges do not require that you submit your scores officially to them. However, there is usually a part of the application (whether the common app or their own app) where you would self report your scores. I would still report your scores honestly here. (plus it would seem odd that you took the class, but not the test)
