Hi im in junior year and im worried about the college admission process because there is alot i dont know about,If someone can tell me more about how it works. Ex( resume, essay, sending transcripts, letters of recommendation, financial aid , etc) would be greatly appreciated.
Anyways regarding ap scores, if i got a 3 should i still send it to the college of my choice? i know it doesn’t earn my any credits but at least they knew that i took the exam which is better than nothing right? In other words will this increase my chances?
Btw when is the deadline to send sat 2(subject) scores to college? Is it the same as the Sat?
P.S. im still new to this forums so please no negative feedbacks
i would also like to know what the heck early decision and early action are. These are just vague terms that i found searching online. The school where im from doesn’t do such a good job informing us about college application process and deadlines so please help
I’m new to this so not in the best position to answer your first question. However, your second question:
Early Action - some colleges give you a choice to apply for regular admissions or early action. Regular admission has a later application and a later notification period (you would hear if you were admitted by approximately April 1. Early action has an earlier application deadline. Generally somewhere around Nov 1 or so. Therefore you find out earlier if you have been admitted…usually before Christmas. You have no obligation to attend the college if you are accepted, you can apply to multiple colleges Early Action, and you can wait until May 1 to let them know if you are going to attend. Different colleges handle early action different. Some colleges will either admit you or defer you for consideration during the regular admissions cycle. Other colleges may admit you, defer you, or reject you altogether.
Early Decision - also has an earlier application deadline and notification date. The difference is that you are committing to attend that college if accepted. So if you are applying Early Decision, you can only apply to that one college. If you are going to need financial aid, you can’t apply Early Decision because you can’t commit to attending since you don’t know what your financial aid package will be in advance.
