AP Exams, Do they really matter for CMU

If i miserably fail my ap economics exam will CMU hold that against me, because this whole year i have learned basically just basic concepts, so im pretty sure the highest grade i could possibly get is a 3. Im just concerned if CMU uses AP tests in it's admissions process and if it is used in anything else besides AP credit

AP Econ cannot count for any CMU econ classes if I remember correctly. However if you get like a 1-2 in an AP test, CMU might think an A in that class is easy to get and might discount it. For example if you got a 2 on AP Econ and got an A for the class, obviously the conclusion is that your class was either too easy or was not up to the standards that it should be.

Ignore this if you have already been accepted since it won't matter at all. You don't even have to take it since it won't give you any credit towards econ classes.

na im a junior taking them next week and just wondering if thell hurt my chances of getting in

3 probably won't, aim for that. 1-2 might hurt a bit but that is if you are on the edge. Getting a 1 will probably be a bit of a red flag as it means the class itself was probably worthless.

or just that you were very sick that week, or thats what you can write in the addtl. information, heh.

I got a 2 in gov't soph year, didn't explain it or anything, I just couldn't test back then is all.
