AP Exams for Non-Student

Hello. I am attempting to take the AP Chemistry Exam outside of school and all the high schools in the New Jersey/New York area that I have contacted are not allowing me to take the exam at their high school. If anyone could give me any suggestions of where to take it, I would appreciate it. Kindly let me know.

Schools might be limiting testing to their own students due to uncertainty about the covid situation. I believe another parent on these boards had to call around 30 schools to get a seat. Keep trying. Look for small schools and smaller private schools in less populated areas. Don’t focus exclusively on those, but that seems to be where people get some bites.

Yes, discussed here a few times. It’s challenging in regular times, more so in COVID days. Calling schools in an ever-expanding radius is about the only advice.

In the same situation here. If the COVID numbers keep going up, I don’t believe we will be able to find a place. I am wondering if they move to virtual testing again, will students be allowed to register for those then?

“The deadline for exam ordering will be extended to March 12 for any homeschooled students unable to find a school to order an AP Exam for them by November 13.** In early 2021, we will share details about a contingency testing option for students unable to test in a school. **”
