AP Exams

It's time to sign up for AP exams and I was wondering what would be better to take: AP Physics B or Calculus AB?
At the school I'm going, Physics counts for 8 credits while Calc counts only for 4. What I'm getting to say is...which is easier? I could get a 3 on physics and still get the 8 creds.

I guess you already answered your uestion.

AP exams coming up.... oh the horror!!!!!! i dunno know the answer to your question, so just giving the topic a bump 'cuz i'm curious too.:) why wouldn't you take both exams if you've taken both classes?

who hasn't started studying yet? raises hand

me too, Spring break or after is time to start studying

"raises hand"
ha! count me in. other than the last minute cramming for quizzes & tests, i've done nothing to prep for the exam!

I've got 2: ap euro and ap bio. I'm a bit frightened since I got a 3 on ap us last year. It's like I don't know how to be confident in my abilities again

this year is my first ap -- ap world. i guess i should start thinking about studying. darn!

well I didn't really answer my question. I was simply saying that if I got a 3 on the physics b exam, I would get credits. But which is harder? Calc AB or Physics B?

desi_chik ... if ur taking ap world... just buy Barron's prep book for AP World... barron's is the besttttttttttt... like...trust me... best best best.... i bought the book 2 weeks be4 the exam... read EVERY page and memorized non stop... dropped a 5... don't bother with any of the other books... BARRON's is the best for AP WORLd... barron's usually blows for all other AP's... but they do a greatt job with AP World... like princeton review is a waste... except the practice tests r good... but just study all tha notes in the barron's nd ur good

tigger10:

calc AB is reallly easy
physics b is reallly easy 2
... IFFFFFF u know ur stuff!
if u dont ... then obviously ur screwed.. lol... its as simple as that

my advice: just take both!!!.. nd get even more credit

nd if u only want to take one.. then take the one u feel more comfortable with

u cant say that calc ab is "harder" thna physics... its 2 different subjects.. like u cant compare drawing and cooking.. same with calc nd physics

I signed up for Physics B---I mean 8 credits?! I can't say no to that. Besides, I can take a placements test for Calc at my college anyways, and not for physics.

yea then u should def take physicss... plus B isn that bad... C will kill ya tho

hey express2nyc, thanks for the tip :)
let the memorization begin.....

desi chik...
i dont know how the test will be structured this year... since its a new AP, they prolly tweak the structure of the test every year

BUT last year's test.... mc was mainly on 1000-1400 time period and 1700-1900 time period

also.. ALL the essays were 1700-present
so dont memorize the stuff about paleolithic, neothilic.... its worthless

they ask ALOT of questions on Africa, Asia, nd latin america

me =[ I haven't studied yet.........and I got like 59days left to the AP psychology test. >< I'm screwed!!! I got the review books. I kept telling myself to study every weekend, but I always ended up hanging out with my friends........><

I haven't started studying yet for ap us! It's gonna be my first AP exam. It's so hard to study when you're not done in school. Maybe I'll learn the rest of the book on my own before the school..I don't even know if they'll finish in time. I bought an amsco book to prepare, and I already have the REA book..but the amsco book still hasn't shown up yet in the mail. The REA book is such DRY reading..and then they have a couple of full-length tests in the end..and that's it. Studying for the exam is more boring than the topic itself. :(

express2nyc...

yeah.. like you said, they probably will switch around the structure. I'm not worried too much about the mc 'cuz i have become a pro at cramming :p lol!

what i'm really worried about is the essay. i'm pretty sure i'll have enough background info to write them but i'm screwed if they give a time period. :(

i'm kinda surprised at that... i thought they would focus the questions on Britian and France... guess ya never know...

so for certain AP Exams, you have to write essays? sorry, i
m a sophomore and i don
t take AP classes, so this is all pretty new to me.

kchen,
I know that for AP World you have to write 3 essays. I'm not sure about the others.
