Hi I am an international student and I am studying in the U.S. Since English is already a foreign language to me, I wonder if taking an AP foreign language exam of my own first language would help me to apply for college and receive college credit? Thanks!
AP scores carry little weight in the admissions decision for the vast majority of colleges. If you want to take the test for college credit, go right ahead. It’d help certify that you have excellent proficiency in your heritage/native language but it wouldn’t be considered as rigorous as any other AP since you’d have an advantage :). It’s better to certify proficiency of course for the purpose of placement.
