AP French Language - How was it?

kaylanl, if you just described both of them, I think that will be fine. They're just evaluating your fluency, not testing your analytical skills.

I did terrible on the oral portion, I couldn't form sentences at all whatsoever. I got so nervous and couldn't even talk.

The rest was a piece of cake.

essay and verb section was hard....rest was all good (oral so-so...i filled in time, but I messed up a few words and had to correct myself).

i'm pretty sure i got a 5. but then again french is my first language :P

how do you do the oral section there?

we speak into a microphone and it basically record what we're saying...

that sounds weird.

It was weird. In class we practiced just using a tape recorder that had a built-in microphone, so I wasn't used to dealing with the whole microphone switch AND tape recorder buttons.

how long more till 48 hours is up?

Is it 48 hours from when each individual test ends? Or 48 hours after the last one does?

What time did everybody finish yesterday? I'm just wondering... we were there until 5 >_<

wow..ours started at 12 and ended at 4.

i think we can start talking about it 48 hours after OURS ended...

and if thats not the case, oh well, they weren't specific enough.

So, yeah. Sorry if there are other AP French threads around talking about the FRs, but I couldn't find any others so I think it's fine to revive this thread after about a week of inactivity.

For me, the listening was sort of hard because I got distracted so easily and I was far away from the boombox-thing (I forgot the word xD), but I won't make excuses. I didn't take it very seriously because I only took the test for practice next year, and yes, I know they won't re-use the test next year, and no, I wasn't just taking it to cheat, but I just wanted to see what it was like. I'm a sophomore, so the only AP class I'm actually in is AP Human Geography, and so I decided taking an extra AP test wouldn't kill me/ make me go bankrupt. It's $80 sort of wasted, but now I really know how to study for next year's that I'll be taking seriously...

Anyway, yeah. I didn't finish my essay because I didn't finish my time well, but I tried to use long sentences with as complex as a grammar as I'm comfortable with. I didn't use the subjunctive that much, and I sort of wanted to because it shows comprehension of the language, but I used other different verb forms, so I don't think that it mattered much.

Now, onto the actual content I put =P

Topic (I can post this, right? It's been more than 48 hours): How does one "succeed at life"? How do you plan to succeed in your life? What will you do to get there? (That's the basic gist of what the topic was, anyone else can correct me if you thought "r

I really don't want to take the test...I'm doing the makeup one next week. I'm totally going to fail it. I wouldn't be surprised to get a 1, but I'm aiming for a 2. Haven't been studying at all and I just decided to take it because I've taken four years of French but my teacher suckssssss. :(

how long should the essay have been? I’ve seen essays that got an 8 or 9 that were less than half a typed page long…but on the test there were 7 pages to work with…i only used 2, and it seems like it was pretty substantial, considering i wrote small
