Hey guys,
My school does not offer AP French so I want to take it outside of school online. Has anyone here taken AP French online? How was it, where did you take it? The cost is not really the concern, I want to know more about the course and how much time you spent on the course, how much extra studying you had to do for the AP test, and how well the course prepared you for the test, etc.
Thanks so much!
I, also, would like this question answered, with AP Spanish respectively.
I have never heard of a high school or virtual high school academy offering the AP coursework. You still have to take the AP exam at a school if you are hoping to earn college credit. It sounds as though quite a number of high school students prefer to “self-study” for the exam. If this is something you are interested in, you might want to check out the CLEP foreign language exams – offer French, Spanish and German. As long as the college/university you plan to attend (or currently attend) has an established CLEP policy (there are close to 3000 that do grant credit for some/all of the CLEP exams), you can take the CLEP exam for credit.
I realize this is an old thread, but thought I would respond for future students. We homeschooled, and our daughter took online French classes through The Potters School, with an option to prepare for the AP exam for French. Our daughter was well-prepared and scored either a 4 or 5 on the AP French exam (sorry don’t remember which). The Potters School is only for homeschooled students, however, that particular teacher (Madame S?) might also teach other online French students.
