will it look real bad on college app. to have ap french:5 but ap french lit:2 ?

Your French Lit score doesn't have to be reported to colleges. Unless you've already sent out an official score report to colleges, theres no need to send on when you apply. Colleges don't require an official AP Score report for the admissions process. Theres a place on your applications to write AP scores, so you can choose to selectively write/omit certain scores. The college won't need an official score report until after you decide to attend (so that they can give you credit etc)

Hey, I'm curious, which one would be easier to self study? Lang or lit?

language of course

how many years of french is usually needed for the ap lan?

wow, they felt equal to me....literature felt even easier because there was no scary grammar, then again fr is my first language...okay whatever. weird. probably meaner curve then.

so what did you get ontolome?
did you read all the books/poetry?

literature was the biggest hype. i never did a thing all year. the day of the exam, i panicked and read some plot summaries on some of the assigned books, took the test, and got a 5. it isn't so much about the literture as it is about your ken of the language. in fact, it is just a bunch of reading comprehension and essay writing (they primarily want to see that you can write in french) as opposed to strict adherence to the guidelines, essay topic at hand etc...fluent or not, keep in mind that the lit exam doesn;t refer to much material you might've learned prior to it; it's a performance test just like the language exam.

what did you get on the language test?

5..........

nice job. on lit, i read summaries for the books like you did (but didnt actually take the class). i thought i did really well on MC guessing on around 5 or 6. i finished 10 minutes (checked work as well) before time was called. then the essays i felt pretty good on the Candide one (the second one i think). i had good grammar, varied vocabulary, and pretty decent sentence structuring but the actual stuff i put was kind of bs. i thought it was equiv to a AP test score 3 or 4 essay. i think its the first essay that i screwed up on. i think i misinterpreted the poem and BS a lot. what do you expect...my highest sat verbal is a 530...and that's not even sat2 literature. i'm just not a grammar/literature type of guy. :)
