AP Gov.

Does anyone have any textbooks they recommend for AP Government?
I’m self-studying, so I’m unsure of which to use.
Thanks in advance.

Also, if anyone could recommend any good textbooks for APUSH, then that’d be appreciated as well.

AP US Government:
-text: Government in America by Edwards, Wattenberg, & Lineberry
(this text is good enough for the exam, but i’ve read some better textbooks, let me know if you’re interested in know more indepth material instead of just the gloss over that APs need)
-prep: REA’s Crash Course for AP US Gov’t by Krieger

AP Comparative Gov’t:
-text:Comparative Politics by Hauss
-prep: Ethel Wood’s AP Comp Gov’t Study Guide
AP Comparative Government and Politics: What You Need to Know by Wedding

APUSH:
text: The American Pageant by: Kennedy, Cohen & Bailey
prep: REA’s Crash Course for APUSH by Krieger

source: i got 5s on all 3 exams w/those books

For US Gov’t, I like American Government: Continuity and Change by O’Connor and Sabato. For prep, I used Princeton Review’s Cracking the AP US Gov book, as well as for APUSH. So those are my recommendations.

My online course uses American Government: Power and Purpose by Lowi, Ginsberg, and Shepsle.

Thanks for the replies.
On to Amazon!

@ letigre, which book would you recommend for a more in depth approach?

American Government in Black and White by McClain & Tauber
it works as a intro textbook for AP classes and also as (what i consider) a more in depth analysis of american politics. it obviously takes a look at how race has shaped american politics too

OK. Thanks.
