Is AP Government hard? How should we prep? Comeon guys join the fun. I’m taking it next year!

I see everyone got 5s. Can someone offer some insight into this course/AP test?

It was really easy for me. Just make sure you know obscure stuff like iron triangles etc. I didn’t use any prep books but I skimmed a few and PR looked the best.

aight thanks man.

I’m taking it next year, too. :)

Practical, are you taking US, Comparative or both? I heard Crash Course is good for US, and Ethel Woods is good for comparative.

I’m taking US. Wbu?

I’m taking U.S. government next year. Let’s talk to each other here to prepare.

^Yeah, that’s a good idea.

Are you guys taking a class or self-study? We have AP gov class but I’ve heard it’s no good at all. so I need to study by myself a lot to get a good score. I hope for a 5.

My school only has regular US gov, and I’ll be self-studying both. Hoping for 5’s.

I have US Gov Honors, but I’ve heard that the teacher doesn’t really prepare you for the exam.

I’m taking the class so it won’t be too tough for me. Let’s hope we all get 5s. I hear it’s simple.

I’m self studying both US and Comparative Gov. I’m pretty sure I’m getting Ethel Wood for Comparative as it seems like that’s the general consensus on CC. Any suggestions for US Gov? Is a prep book suffice for a 5, or would it be better to get a textbook?
I’m taking regular US Gov, which is required for all seniors, but based on last year’s seniors, the class is not adequate prep for the AP exam (as I’d expect).

^Why are you self studying both>? What’s the point?

Because they’re different subjects? Plus, self studying APs is fun (I’d get ostracized at school for saying that :D)
I’m also aiming for the International AP Scholar with a cumulative total of 21 APs my senior year, though I’m not necessarily expecting to get it since I know there are people out there who are capable of taking more.

Did you just say studying APs is fun? Eww?

^ If you think of it as a challenge, then yea it can be fun.

I just laughed out loud, haha.

I’m self-studying both in hopes of getting out of GE requirements and whatnot for my prospective major - Political Science / International Relations / what have you.

@zMatrix: PR or Crash Course for US Gov alone would suffice, from what I’ve read on CC.

I will also take AP gov with a class then test in May next year.
@zMatrix, you’re nuts!! why do you take that many APs??? sorry I’m just saying
