I am a Pre-Political Science major and a new freshman at UCLA, who has received a "5" on the AP U.S. Government exam. Is AP credit applied as a general Polisci course or can I skip PS40 and take an upper division class instead? Any knowledge from current polisci majors would be greatly appreciated.

iiiiiiiiiiiiiii

ooooooooooooooo

Oh dang nevermind, lol.

EDIT

Here take a look at this

so is PS 40= AP U.S. government ?
the link says it is equivalent to POL SCI United States… but I don’t think there is actually a class called that… [POL SCI Political Science Department Courses | UCLA | MyEdu](http://www.myedu.com/UCLA-University-of-California-Los-Angeles/school/s/72/course/?dept_id=6861)

No, AP US Gov does not translate to POLI SCI 40. You just get 4.0 units for passing it.

PS40 is such an epic waste of time. It’s a joke of a class and you don’t learn anything new. Unfortunately, as people have already mentioned, AP will not get you out of it.

Two good things about that class are that you can use it as a) a no-sweat GPA booster and b) nap time.

+1. A mollusk could probably take this class and pass it.
