In writing an essay, do we need to just answer the question? For example: Define congressional reapportionment and exlplain one reason why it is important to the states.
My answer: Congressional reapportionment is when the House of Representative members of each state changed due to the every ten year census. One reason why it is important to the states was because it can change the number of that party in Congress, meaning that the state has more influence.
Is that it?
Do I have to craft an essay, meaning an introduction and conclusion for the essay? Do we get points deducted for that?

If it asks you to define and explain X, all you have to do is define and explain X. You won’t get deducted points for doing more, but it won’t get you anything either.

I also have a question about the AP US Government free responses. Some of the free response questions ask for you to select 2 out of 3 of the choices given to respond on. If I write about all 3 of those choices and get 1 of them wrong BUT the other two choices are correct, will I receive full credit for that question?

bump, does anyone know?

^^^

Youll be fine, because the rubrics always state that the write must describe correctly and fully…blah blah blah. So as long as you get two correct, you won’t be hurt.
