AP guide books --- helpful / useless???

Do the AP guide books provide any help whatsoever?? If they do, does anyone have any recommendations for :
-- AP Chemistry
-- AP Biology
-- AP English
This would really help me out and I would really appreciate any thoughts or comments. :)

I didn't take AP Chem.

For Bio, I liked Cliff a lot.

I didn't use any prep material for English.

thanks beck :)

any suggestions on AP Chem... ??

Princeton Review is really good.

And I second Cliffs for biology.

I used Kaplan for English Language (actually because it was the only book left at Barnes and Noble the day before the exam) and got a 5.
I'm using Princeton Review for Literature.

Barron's AP Bio is also good.

the practice tests are very real, and help alot, but the actual material is useless if you dont understand it in class (for the sciences anyway)

Ive taken AP chem (4), and Im taking AP bio

chem? Barrons (i liked the detail but u really don't need one if u did well through the year) I have a five in Chem

I found CliffsAP to be an absolute necessity in taking Biology.

I think Princeton Review is generally good (5 in AP Chem). I got Cliffs for AP Lang but it had that old newspaper smell which i didnt like. :/

AP practice books .. totally useless for chemistry. All you need is Zumdahl. If you can do the chapter review problems correctly, then you'll be fine. Read the later chapters for specific rxns.
