AP help!!

Do universities care if you pass your AP exam??

@Dominique2015‌

Wouldn’t it show whether you have mastery of the subject or not?

That is what I thought right? But I have heard from many sources conflicting answers. That is my reasoning for asking.

Searched it up a bit. Scores on the AP Exams don’t matter much, unless you want credit for a college course

For me it matters mainly because I’m taking a really difficult AP Physics course where most people get like B’s or B+'s but almost everyone gets a 5 on the exam. Thus it is important to get a 5 to show that the course was actually difficult.

Of course they care! Would they want to admit someone who wants to major in computer science if they got a 1 on the AP Computer Science exam? I don’t think so!!!

@dsi411‌

Of course the AP Exams that are subjects that you want to possibly major in would care, but other subjects that are useless wouldn’t really matter that much

well it depends on which colleges you’re talking about.

@Kawaiiii‌ But still, if you are the kind of person who gets 1s on AP tests, you probably don’t have a very high gpa either. Plus you get college credit. And it just makes you look more hard-working to college admissions people.

For admission purposes, colleges do not care. They only get the test results if you ask CB to send them.
