I heard rumors that graduating as an IB full diploma automatically makes you a "sophomore" at a UC. To what extent is this true or not true? And if I had around 7-8 AP tests in addition to the diploma, how many credits approximately would I get?

Hahahaha! You're funny. I graduated full diploma and they only give you as many credits as points you earned in IB (which is basically bull, sicne if those were all passing AP tests you'd easily get 20 more credits usually). Plus if any of your AP tests are similar to your IB tests they take away those credits. So being full diploma I only got 34 credits and they took away the 12 I earned from my 2 AP tests.

Yeah. UCLA hates IB.

As long as your IB classes were 5 or higher and your AP classes were 3 or higher (in most cases), you are absolutely positively 100% going to be a sophomore by the time you start, despite the deductions you'll face. That's a lot of AP and IB credit.

Not true UCLAri, I graduated IB full diploma and entered with 30 units and a freshman with sophmore status. I did not get all 5's but totaled 30 points for the full diploma. I got 2 4's. I think the 5's only matter if you don't get the full diploma.

Well, either way he's going to have enough units to be sophomore status with all those courses. I'd be shocked otherwise.
