AP importance

okay so i took the world history ap exam in may. if i were to get a 2 or 3 on it, how much would that hurt my chances at penn or other highly selective schools. ive got rly good SATs and pretty good grades so would a mediocre ap kill my chances?

no. you don't have to show your aps to penn, you can hide the ones you don't wanna show to colleges

They don't weigh the scores heavily. Don't be reluctant to put your scores down. You should show all your APs to Penn. The fact that your taking AP courses and the grades you receive in them are more important than the scores.

i got a 2 on AP chemistry and my admissions rep bruce chamberlain called my school to ask what happened...it wasn't a make-or-break, but they do look at aps

did you get in, upennuhten?

i got a 3 in spanish and i got in. it wasn't really that bad of a score.

yes, and ben franklin scholar, so it really doesnt matter...but then again I had a kickass college counselor who explained why i got a 2

will it hurt if all the APs you've taken are 3s...no 4s or 5s.

I have a friend who took 10 APs..but she got all 3s..will it hurt her when the college see that she got all 3s? she is applying for Harvard.

shes taken 10?!?

My god, ouch. APs usually aren't THAT important, but if there's a mediocre trend, God, somebody's gonna wonder.
