We took a practice AP Lang exam in class (the 2008 one; 54 questions) and i got 21 of the 54 wrong. What could i expect on the actual exam to receive (a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5) with a 5, 6, 7 essays or a 6, 7, 8 essays? Thanks.

I would assume a 3 (potentially a 2), depending on the curve for the exam that year.

In general, I would focus more on the essay than the MC. I literally fell asleep for 45 minutes of the MC and still got a 5 because I aced my essays.

im pretty sure i completely bombed the MC part of the exam last year. I always got more than half of them wrong when we did practice questions in class and during the test i didnt finish and left the last 5 blank and im pretty sure i got the 5 before that wrong because i basically guessed on them. Im pretty sure i did amazing on the essays and got a 4 so it also depends on the essay portion as well.

Yea I guess that makes sense since the essays do count as 55% as opposed to the MC being 45%. I also had one last question, what did you guys do to prepare for the exam? If I read Cliffs through and do the practice exams will that be sufficient? And approximately how long will it take me to read it? Thanks!

I did absolutely nothing and got a 4 lol. I'm not an english person either. it's not the ap to stress over. you either know how to write the essays or you don't. simple as tht.

i didn't study at all either, its not really a test you can study for. I guess the only way you can get better is by improving your writing and analyzing skills by just doing essays and practice questions over and over until may comes around
