My teacher gave us the 91 diagnostic exam and I didnt do so well. 34/53. The passages were difficult compared to sat cr. I ran out of time during the test and couldnt answer the entire last passage. So do you guys have any tips. My teacher said 10 more would put it in 5 range so thats what im aiming for.

When i took AP Lang last year my teacher would occasionally do some multiple choice tests, and those things were HARD. They were only around 18 questions, and we even got 3 chances to get them right!

And i still got a C on the first one. And then an F on the next one. I felt like i was so screwed for the AP test.

During the actual test, the multiple choice isnt actually that hard. It’s a lot more straightforward than the practice books out there. So dont stress over the MC too much.

HOWEVER

We had 4 passages on ours, and each of them was roughly a page long (i think the first one was a little longer). You only have a limited time, and i ended up finishing with only 2 minutes to check over my answers (and i rushed through the last essay too). Pacing is definitely something you should practice. Just time yourself on how long it takes for you to read a passage. Then, just keep reading. Keep reading until you can improve that time, and eventually you should be good to go =D

P.S I was expecting a 4 on the exam, and quite possibly a 3 (my third essay was rushed), but i got a 5. The curve is rather generous, but it is still a pretty hard exam!

the curve is not that generous actually. My sat reading Is only 600 and if you really focus, you will find that mc to be somewhat easy on exam day. I got a 4. Besides, if you get crushed by the multiple choice, makes sure your essays are REALLY GOOD so u can redeem your score :p

sigh… i just took my first ap lang objective and got a 78, i ran out of time and had to guess for the last 11 questions. any tips other than pacing?
