ap lang or lit?

I have no idea which one to pick. Right now, I am overseas as a foreign exchange student in Portugal. When I come home to finish my senior year of high school, I don't know which English class I should take, the language and composition or the literature and composition. Both of them I have never done before. My best subject is English so I am not worried about failing the exam. There is no way for me to take both of them next year. Here is the issue....

With ap lang, I would pass and get that freshmen college english credit out of the way. The problem with that is I will be with all juniors and none of my friends would be in the class.

With ap lit, I would pass and get the sophmore college english credit but not the freshmen. I will however be with my friends in the class.

WHICH ONE SHOULD I PICK???

I think Lang is a better option. Lit requires advanced reading skills.

I was also thinking the lang. I need help with my grammar and sentence structure. I think it would be imperative for me to learn all those things over again before I go to college.

Any other suggestions???

Cliffs AP for Lang rocks. Also look into Barrons. I am taking both exams this year, and from my experience, using big words helps a lot.

Thanks! I was about to ask for some good prep books.
