AP Language and Comp

What percent of the whole test do you need for a five or a four? My English teacher gave us an AP test as our midterm and what I beleive would be a good grade on the AP, is a bad grade on the midterm. For many AP tests 60-70% can get you a five, but I would not want a midterm grade in that range. Meh, just wondering. thanks

Well a 5 on this exam seems to be very difficult, which worries me. According to college board only 8.7 % of people get 5's.

Meh. Do well on the multiple choice and you can cruise with a mediocre 6 on all your essays for a 5 on the test.

Which is exactly what I did.

Yeah, getting 5s on AP tests is pretty overrated...the curve allows for like an 80% to be a five (pretty much for all APs)

problably the reason such a small percent get 5's is because so many people take it (kinda like how the stats make it seem like US History (one of the easier APS) is the hardest)

US History is HARD HARD HARD HARD!!

my midterm was so impossible, I think I'm getting an F on it without a curve.

meh I got a 79. Got a 6 on the essay and did pretty good on the MC. Trying to work out a B-...

OK, my teacher for this course is super-strict. Every other class, we do an AP style paragraph or short MC section, and use the remaining time to do other little things. We even have to come in on Saturdays for extra classes - and guess what she makes us do? He gives up a period of 3.5 hours and 7 essay prompts [even though that's not what the real AP exams going to be like], and all the work we do counts for the school grade too....

~~~~~~ heh...you might've guessed my english mark is not exactly amazing right now... :mad:
thats even worse than my teacher, we just write 2 in class essays a week, read all the time, and of course, have a ton of projects to do.
We do lots of group discussions in our Lang class. Often the topic of discussion is rhetoric strategies used by authors in various short story-like pieces. However, we do an occasional timed write and a weekly vocab test of 25 words...
It's not that rigorous.
