Should I take it? Is it difficult?
If you should take it depends on your situation. Can you give any more information?
As for difficulty, ask students in that are in the class currently at your school. Course difficulty depends heavily on how a certain teacher teaches, so only the students at your school will really be able to answer these questions accurately. I can tell you the test itself wasn’t too hard last year. The multiple choice was very similar to the SAT reading test, and you can read up on how to structure the essays online. Only the rhetorical analysis can sometimes be challenging, but with some practice, you should be fine.
Yes! I have taken both English 9 and now American Literature because we are required to take both to graduate. I got a high A in English 9 and currently have a high A in American Literature. I have not talked to anybody yet about this class. I am currently taking AP Psychology right now and have an A is that makes a difference. Do you think this is a class that I could take with 1 or 2 other AP classes and still be able to do the best I can?
I would say you have a pretty good chance of success in AP Lang. If you have gotten high A’s in previous classes, anything less might be boring. However, I’d still recommend talking to some current students to make sure the workload isn’t an insane jump from previous classes and you’ll have trouble keeping up with EC’s, the teacher isn’t awful, etc.
