I'm taking AP Language this upcoming year as a junior with a bad teacher. I want to major in English in college, so this class is extremely important to me, as well as the AP test. Is there anything I can do to prepare for the class and/or the test during the summer? Also, does it make a difference for what books I choose?

There’s no such thing as a “bad” english teacher.

You know how to read and write at the college level… or you don’t. It’s as simple as that.

From personal experience, learn how to read passages that are more straightforward, scientifically based.

The essays again, just look over past examples, formulate your own.

One year isn’t going to turn you from a 1-2 student to a 4-5 student.

Well, the teacher never grades any assignments or gives feedback on work. I would consider that a bad English teacher. Thanks for your advice - it is my first AP class so I have no idea where I stand or what to expect!
