AP Language

I am a Sophmore in Spanish III right now, and I was wondering about the Spanish language AP. Does anyone take the exam when only completing Spanish 4 or do you need 5? There is a Spanish V offered at my school but I am not sure that I like Spanish enough to take another year of it. Has anyone taken the Spanish AP test while only getting to Spanish 4

You need to take the actual AP Class...The AP Exam is based off of the material from that class.

Actually, you don't have to take an AP class to take the AP test. Many students - especially the super-motivated ones who tend to post here on CC -- self-study for AP exams.

At my son's school, students enrolled in Spanish IV take the AP Spanish Language exam. Students enrolled in Spanish V take the AP Spanish Literature exam.

At my school, people in IV and/or V take the lang exam. That way, if they don't pass in year IV, they have another shot in V. If they pass, they can go on to V still or quit.

No one takes the lit one because it's supposed to be so hard and we aren't prepared.

Literature is the way to go. :) I can't wait for Spanish and Latin Literature. Also, he is just talking about not self-studying...just taking the class. I'm taking Spanish 5 Honors and I find it to be a little easy, It's your choice, are you in honors or no? Honors is more grammatical based and standard is cultural based. It's easier for honors.

I took the AP Spanish Language exam after AP Spanish 4 and got a 5.

Anybody know how the AP Latin Vergil exam is?
