AP Language?

Ok so the time has come to pay for AP testing, and I was wondering, how many ppl take the AP Language test? It doesn't seem like something you can really study for, and in my school, some kids just take AP Lang and AP lit classes and take one AP test at the end of the year. English is not my favorite subject (in fact it may be my least favorite), but I write okay and have one of the highest grades in my class. Would you guys recommend taking the test? They are very expensive......but I don't want to look like I'm just taking it for honors points and not intending to take the ap test...

On a side note, I am also in APUSH, but we do nothing in that class and I have learned almost nothing. Should I sign up still and hope I can learn it all within the next month or so? My guess is yes but I still want an opinion. More so on the English question though...

Some colleges will give you credit if you score a 4 or 5, and you can take a more advanced class instead of the introductory one. Since some kind of English class is required at many colleges, this can be helpful.
