AP Latin Vergil

Does anyone know how generous the curve is? : o

no but i really really wish my school had latin. I'D TOTALLY TAKE IT..and enjoy it much better than blah espanolllllll

:)

lol sorry pointless post considr this a free bunch

Yep, it's fun.

No competition from native speakers either ^^;

^ how hard do you think it would be to self-study? im thinking about taking the exam next year, but my school doesn't offer it...

Truthfully...

You have to translate over ~1800 lines of Latin poetry, a completely different style than Latin prose with it's own minutiae to consider.

It's doable--depending on how good you are at Latin and how much time you have. However, without a teacher, it's hard to be sure that you're right in your translation. Unless I sell you my interlinear translation, lol, but I don't think I will pass that on for profit.

Marimare-I'm taking the Latin Vergil test on Friday!
What are you doing to study? There is so much information!

The curve is probably not generous enough to give me a 5, alas. The MC is going to murder me. And they'll probably pick some horrible obscure passage for the literal translation... any bets on what lines?

^ Book 6, I'm guessing.

Crap, I haven't studied at all. I'm going to CliffNote the plot to cover the English essay and then I'm going to memorize vocab, refresh on scansion/devices/vocab, and then revisit my translations.

Okay I found out the approximate curve:

79-120: 5
68-78: 4
50-67: 3
...

The rest I don't need to specify for CC kids.

If it's Dido's and Aeneas' bickering in book IV, I'll shoot myself... especially if we have to analyze anything about it >.< On the other hand, the death of Laocoon would be an awesome translation!!

And Marimare, I wish that was true! I'm really, seriously scared about not passing.

Just finished it. Not bad at all.

I just took the Latin Literature (Catullus-Ovid) exam today. It was mostly a self-study because it wouldn't fit in my schedule. Is Vergil hard? I'm thinking about taking it for next year, self-study because they're not offering it at my school.

tinuviel, I'm sorry, lol.

Yeah, it wasn't that bad!
