AP Limit at Your School?

Can't tell if this is something that is very common...do you guys have a limit on the amount of APs you can take?
For my school, you can't take APs in freshman year, AP World is the only option for sophomores (used to be able to take AP Latin as well sophomore year), and then junior and senior year there's a 3 limit cap (4 if you have "proven" yourself).

We have no limit, except that most classes that do not have prerequisites are only open to juniors and seniors.

This is pretty similar to my school as well.

We are limited only by grades and availability, but many counselors will strongly recommend against having more than 4 APs if they feel that students will not be able to handle it.

No limits, but there’s really no class we have available to freshmen.

we have no limit persay, but a lot of APs have prereqs so you can’t take them freshman year. The only APs you can really take as a freshman are Calc BC, foreign language, and Comp Sci, unless you’re super accelerated (one girl took ap physics C as a freshman). A lot of kids take 6 aps junior year, which I guess would be the max that year, since we have one required honors class junior year(7 classes a year), although you can take an additional 8th class online for a fee.

No limits but you have to meet the prerequisites and the only AP available as a freshman is AP Human Geography.

My school has a 6 AP limit (out of 7 periods per day). However, you’re allowed to send a written request to your counselor to try to take all 7 as AP. It’s really unlikely they’ll let you take all 7 periods AP, though. However, it’s not just a 6 AP limit; it’s a 6 AP/Honors/Advanced limit.

Freshmen at my school can only take AP Human Geography, and sophomores can take AP Art History.

It sucks…my school doesn’t even have honors classes. It’s either regular, AP, or advanced (only for Alg. I / II , Geometry, Pre Calc).

Sort of, Guidance will try to stop you from taking over like 3 APs and you just have to fight them.

No AP’s in freshman year, and if you take more than 3 AP’s you have to sign a waiver saying you won’t “be at risk to yourself.”

I think I saw some video on AP classes for some school in NY that made you sign a waiver saying that you wouldn’t drop the class unless for medical problems ore something along those lines.

^ There’s that stipulation in the waiver as well

Ah alright

Only one available for freshman and sophomores. There may be a few exceptions for sophomores, like someone who is ahead in math. No limit that I’m aware of for juniors and seniors. They did make a new rule previously that you can’t drop AP Courses after you sign a contract for them.

Not much of a limit but a lot of AP classes require an additional honors class beforehand, along with teachers wanting theirs to be second semester because of block scheduling.

the limit does not exist

My school has a limit and barriers and stuff, but I just went up to my principal, told them I was going to do it and explained how/why I would do it and that I wasn’t going to be stopped, and lo and behold, I did 6 APs as a sophomore

My school has such ■■■■■■ courses (not surprising since I’m from a So Cal public school) and we aren’t allowed to take any AP’s our freshman year, there’s one available for sophomores (AP Euro), and there aren’t any limits for how many you can take as juniors and seniors but you cannot take APUSH any other year aside from your junior year, have to take Euro as a sophomore or not at all, etc. My school has all of the basic AP’s and absolutely no other unique courses beyond those.

At my school you can’t take any as a freshman , you can only take one as a sophomore , four as a junior
