AP LIT BOOKS for test

Are these enough books to review for the Literature and Comp exam?

Hamlet
Daisy MIller
Razors Edge
Great Gatsby
The Crucible
Of Mice & Men
The Pearl
Bartelby the Scrivener
Thousand Clowns
Macbeth
Count of Monte Cristo

If not... what books should I add?

As far as quantity, you have enough – however, some of them are a bit obscure (I’m a literature person and personally, I’ve never heard of Thousand Clowns). Try adding books like Jane Eyre or The Chosen that you can use for a wide variety of topics.

That list is great. “Bartleby,” though, is a short story and thus cannot be used for the third essay.

Don’t be afraid to use obscure books - just as long as they’re not trashy romance / mystery / etc novels. No reader wants to read another essay on an overused book, like To Kill a Mockingbird.

Those “overused” books work just fine, though. Don’t intentionally avoid them if they’re the texts you know best!

Not just books–also get some plays. Othello and A Doll’s House were REALLY helpful for me.

(um, “plays” are also “books,” unless you’re telling the OP to “get” a stage performance somehow…)
