Ap lit mcq advice.

I've been blessed with an APLIT teacher who really knows how the FR section of the test works and we spend a lot of time on essays and how to write and develop those ideas.
However, our class has neglected the MCQ section.
We've taken practice tests a few times, but I haven't scored in my target range yet.
Any advice on how to deal with the APLIT MCQ?
I tend to narrow it down to two answers....and then I pick the wrong of the two.
My teacher says that with my score on the essays, I should be able to still get a 3...
But, I'm really interested in getting a 5 and I'm willing to put in whatever time it takes to do that.

u r lucky that you have a teacher that focuses on the FR at least. i haven’t learned anything in my class since the start of school. i’ve been independent studying. for the MC i found that if you review the vocab it helps a lot. get a review book (princeton review, baron’s, 5 steps to a 5, etc.) and they have a glossary in the back. they also have a step by step guide on how to approach the MC section. i’m using princeton review and 5 steps to a 5 and both have helped me a lot.

can you tell me how to approach FR section. i can get about 40 of the MC right but the FR is going to kill me. i can’t figure out how to analyze the prose or the poetry. right now i probably would get like a 4 on each essay. i’m aiming for around 6 or 7. any tips would be appreciated. thanks
