okay so basically I took a practice exam the other day in my ap lit class... ummm the highest percentage was 60%... and it wasn't me. I'm fine with not being the best but I got around a 45% and it's sort of ridiculous I think. My AP teacher said it was great because you only need 51% to get a 3. Sadly a 3 won't do for me. Any tips on this? It's not the essay that I'm worried about its those stupid multiple choice questions. 45%?!?!?!?!?! I mean that's insanely low! I guess I'm just shocked is all.

First thing that our AP teacher told us was that the tests take a lot of practice and that you should get a really low score the first time because they are looking for a specific way of analyzing that you just have to adjust to. Of course, she gives us the hardest ones on purpose so getting 30 right correlates with a 5. On average at our school, students score one grade higher than they did on the AP lang. (i.e. 4 lang. generally translates to 5 on lit.) Not sure if your school's English III is lang. and comp. though. Hope that helps. I wouldn't stress, we're only a quarter through the year, you have a lot more material to cover, and you yourself said you do well on the essays. I'm sure it will balance out.

at least your AP teacher is giving up multiple choice practice test! We've been concentrating on making pretty posters of Hamlet!

yeah we did one poster project on the Poisonwood Bible, and I tried to be as deep and thoughtful as possible haha. But this 45% just sort of irks me I guess. But I've never found a test that I couldn't beat so... It's on like Diddy Kong (I've always found Donkey Kong to be a bit over aggressive in his actions, so I plan to beat the test in a cute and extremely obnoxious manner)
