AP Lit vs. AP Lang

I have the option of taking either (or both) next year as a senior. (Not allowed to take Lang as a junior). Which seems to be more fun/enjoyable for you guys and why? (Or easier)

Yes, I have asked people at school and the consensus is about the same for either.

Lang at my school is more fun and enjoyable but more difficult. Lit is not really a legit class b/c the teacher is drunk and doesn't teach us at all. We have read a bunch of short stories but no poetry and that was first semester.

How exactly does one study for the AP Language exam? It seems like there isn't much to do.

The class was all about analyzing the structure of passages and works. It's alot more interesting than Lit.

by reading difficult non-fictional prose and analyzing its rhetorical strategies

I love that prospect.

Lit and Language were BORING to me. I think Language was easier, but Lit more interesting.

Language - nonfiction, research, maybe 1 shakespeare (at my school anyway)
Lit - fiction, poetry, a lot more shakespeare

Go to collegeboard.com and look at the summaries they give in AP Central.

I wouldn't take both, since in a lot of respects they're not that different. Different people feel differently about it

basically the same. if you're good at english, you'll be good at either. Can't go wrong with either of 'em.

i think it also depends on how your school offers them. for us, lang will be a new class next year for juniors only if they wanted to take it instead of english 3 honors while lit is an option for seniors who want to take it in place of english 4 honors.

EDIT:
concerning rbase's post:
I don't know about you, but I SUCK at shakespeare and poety. I don't understand them. period. I know that in english this year, I had high A's for the first three quarters plus the midterm, and this quarter, all we've done is Shakespeare and I have an effing C right now.

I don't think the "same for both, if you're good at english, you're good at both" applies to everyone.

i'm taking both because i got a 3 last year on lang... i really need a 4 on one of them.
