Hi =) I was just wondering how AP Lit compares to the SAT subject test. I was planning on taking SAT Bio this year.. but since my teacher has been gone for two months (apparently a really bad case of pneumonia)... I hardly know anything! I'm currently taking AP Lit right now, and from practice tests, I've been scoring 4ish on the MC section. What should I expect for the SAT?

i was wondering about this as well.

Do you score well on the SAT I Critical Reading section? And by well, I mean very well -- the SAT II Literature test takes critical reading to another level. As for scaling an AP score to a SAT II score, a 4 would probably give you somewhere in the 600s, but this is just my guess. The AP tests are much more lenient than the SAT II versions.

Is a 740 "very well?"

Yes! That is a very good score.

For this test I would say that getting a 740+ is really well.

If you have been practicing on AP Lit MC, you'll be fine. I took the SAT II Lit at the beginning of this year, having taken only a few AP Lit MC samples and received a 760. I took AP Language last year and got a 5 -- the Language and Literature MC are of course a touch difference, but any sort of experinece will be a tremendous asset to you. It was a poem written in Middle English which caught me off guard, though, so just make sure you are familiar with multiple forms of literature before you take it.
